2015 So Far (This is a long one)

WOW I haven't written a post since August 2012. Can you believe it? I can't.

It's now April 2015 and I feel like so many things have happened in the 3 years since my last post. First, I graduated high school and I'm finishing up my freshman year of college. Thing sure do move fast. I feel like as I've gotten older (I cringe using this word) time moves faster. Im pretty sure a year felt like centuries when I was five.

Anyways reading through my old post makes me surprised at how similar I am to my 15 year old self. The two goals I have in my life are still to just travel and support my parents. I guess the important things never change.

Speaking of traveling, thats exactly what I've been doing this past year since graduating high school. I started working during my senior year of high school and was able to save up for a few domestic trips.

Before starting college I flew to the BIG APPLE with a friend. As a girl living in California I always dreamed of living in NYC and it did not disappoint. I still hope to live there one day~

Of course we couldn't not stop by the statue of Liberty. She was a beauty
Than we headed to the 7/11 memorial museum. It was a very serene and awe filled moment for me. It was hard to think that each name carved on the block was a life lost.
While in New York we knew we had to watch a broadway show and we saw Pippin! We originally wanted to watch wicked, but couldn't due to the shortage of tickets :(
But Pippin was awesome and super fun!

This is what I do at museums. HA just kidding I just like being a blatant tourist sometimes ;)

The beautiful New York night scene that will never fail to leave me speechless.

These picture were taken on the rooftop on the met. Such a beautiful place, I totally recommend you go up and take in the beauty that is New York. Also take sun glasses so you can actually open your eyes in photos hehe

My beautiful friend Kaite!

My favorite place that I went to in New York was Chelsea. It's such a cute little place that I can't wait to go back to.

New York was amazing and lived up to all my expectations. It left me breathless and wanting more of the city life. I loved the fast pace nature and the constant buzzing. I have no doubt I'll be back in NY sometime soon.

After my trip I pack up and moved into college. Which was an adventure in its own. During my winter break I was able to fit in a trip to San Francisco, which was another city I had always dreamed of living in one day.

We drove up to San Francisco from LA and the drive in itself was an adventure. It was SUPER foggy and we couldn't see anything for miles. This was even the worst fog we came across. But it gave the drive a super calm and relaxed vibe.

Our first view of the San Francisco Skyline.

Can I please be part of your group??

Cute friends being cute tourist in front of cute bridge

Why you so photogenic bridge!?!?

HAHAHA

When will I be able to take non awkward photos????

For some reason this has become my signature travel pic pose?

Alex and I being super asian. (1.2.3 CHEESE)

Clearly none of us were really prepared for this photo.

A cute family I creepily took photos of.

San Francisco was super beautiful, but also didn't really live up to my super high expectations. I still really enjoyed our trip, but I don't think I would enjoy living there anymore. I'm just not a walk up a hill everyday to get anywhere type of person. Maybe I'll live in the outskirts of the city one day who knows?

Yep and most recently me and a friend went on another road trip up north to Monterey. We went during my spring break and went camping for a night at Andrew Molera State Park in Big Sur. It was SUPER fun and an awesome experience.

We stopped by the Lompoc Flower Fields while heading up and it was beautiful~ It wasn't yet filled with flowers because we were there mid march, but still the fields that were blooming were amazing.

I have to say that the drive up there and back had some of the best views of the trip

Case in Point 1

Shameless selfie among the beautiful landscape

Case in Point 2 (excuse the dirty window. For some reason it got really dirty while driving up to Big Sur)

Case in Point 3

This is in Pfeiffer National park. If you are EVER near the Big Sur/Monterey area you HAVE to stop by. It's so beautiful and raw. There are tons of hikes you can do or you could just chill in the river.

Oh my bejeezus. This river was super cold. Staying in it for more than 30 seconds gives you numb feet. It is super refreshing though.

For some reason I wanna title this picture "stairway to heaven" (in fact it was the stairway to a tough hike)

REDWOOOOOOOOODS I love you. never leave me.

We look super grimy and tired, but we got to the waterfall! It was kinda small, but awesome nonetheless.

We also went on a second hike that gave us a wonderful view over Big Sur.

This is me at Lompoc fields. Clearly no one has taught me the proper way to pose in pictures.

Overall, these last few weeks have been super fun and eye opening for me. Before graduating high school I had honestly done little to no traveling. I only knew that I loved the idea of travel and always made it a goal of mine. These trips made me realize how much I do love going to new places, exploring cities I've never been to, and meeting people on the road. I realized that trips don't always have to be super big, they could be going to santa Barbara for a weekend or going to the beach. I learned that if I want something I have to go get it, no excuses. I always thought that traveling was expensive and I would have to wait until I got a proper job to do it, but now I know that priorities are everything(i.e. spend the 50 dollars on clothes or save it for a potential trip?). I've been able to go on these amazing trips without depending on my parents and I'm glad that I fund these experiences myself(although they always offer to help). I know there are a ton of more trips in my future(in fact going to Monterey this weekend! and Korea next month!) and I can't wait!

Bye guys till next time!

SAT Memories

Hey guys long time no talk.

AHAHA. As you know(or don't) it is summer and no where is summer as summery as in southern california. I don't know if I consider this as a good thing since I detest hot weather, but summer vacation has been nice.

Every Summer I usually go to summer school or something of the sort and this year I went to SAT class. In the begging I was pretty apprenhensive about the whole thing. I mean being stuck in a room for five hours with the same people for ten weeks was not my idea of fun. Not to mention we had to take a four hour test every thursday. However, now that SAT classes are coming to a close I have to say I would do  it all over again next summer.(If it were the same people)

I had so much fun in SAT class, it's kind of amazing. I never realized that taking a class would be so much fun. I met so many fun and kind people. Working hard everyday with good people around you is really such a good feeling. In all seriousness I'm going to miss all the people I've met through this class. I cant explain how much I loved this class and the people in it. It's classes like this that make me wish I had a facebook, but then again facebook is just one of the ways that I can keep in touch with the people in my class. I really want to stay in touch with all these people and I have to say I am REALLY bad at keeping in touch, but I don't know.....

Some of the Memories that I will NEVER Forget:

- Laughing until my stomach hurt. Although it was a serious class we were always goofing off and I always ended up with a sore stomach by the end of the day because of how funny the people in my class were.
-Going up on the roof with a newfound close buddy. We've kept it a secret throughout the whole ten weeks. I remember seeing the ladder that led up to the roof and shouting "Oh my gosh we have to go up" and up we went. The moment I was on the roof was amazing. There was music blasting in my ear and wind caressing my face. It was unexplicable. Although going up on that roof would probably get us is trouble if anyone knew.
-Going on starbucks trips. We would run across the street and rush over to starbucks to get our coffee fix.
- Competing over who got the best score and cheering each other on.
- Taking the vocab test and trying to cram all the words in an hour so that we wouldn't have to write sentences.
- Trying to get Jessica, ara, and yoona to laugh.
- Making fun of and watching people blackmail clay and all the other boys in the class.
- Getting closer to the people around me and trying to make them laugh.
-Telling stories about my family to the select few who weren't taking the SAT2C class.
- Ganging up on people with jessica and annie  to make fun of their 'wife' (hahah)
- Pointing out all the weird habits mr Jung has with all the other kids.
- Talking about the old days of ACE

Tomarrow is the last day of class and well I'm super sad, but this feeling will pass and hopefully I'll meet great people at school.(although this is highly unlikely) Anyways tommarow is junior day at my school so I'll be going early in the morning ready for battle. (seriously trying to get a good locker at our school is not easy) Wish me luck!

I really really loved every moment of this class. I hope that wherever the people in this class go they will be succesful.

Best Wishes.

Bye bye.
Gemma

P.S school is starting in 11 days :o (excited? little bit.)

Cravings

Im craving so many things right now. Adventure, New beginnings, A good book, Good Music, concerts, Parties, and Happiness.

I really hope rain will come soon. I know it's summer, but why can't it rain still. Maybe soon? hopefully soon?

The school year is coming to an end and I'm super busy for the summer. I have SAT classes five days a week and art class on saturdays so I can't really do anything. I also have many BIG choices that have to be made. I thinkg it's already pretty much finalized, but we won't know until next month so until then I'll sorta be on edge. Anways, I don't like people who take forever making a choice. I mean if it's a trivial thing like what sandwich you're going to order I can wait. I mean I do that too. But when it's a choice that really counts not only for you, but for the people around you as well and you take months to make a choice I get sooo irritated. I understand that people are trying to think it through so that they won't regret their choice later on, but come on!!

Now that my rants over. I just wanna say that summer is coming and I always get a feeling of nostalgia in this part of the year.

Bye Bye.

My 1460 Cherry Red Smooth Doc Martens

Hey guys a couple of days ago my Docs finally arrived. Getting these online was a hassle, but now that I have them in my hands it was so worth the trouble. This is a review so if you just wanna see the shoe just keep scrolling down.

Sizing:
I originally got the sizee uk 7 based on what it said on the online Doc Marten site, but they were HUGE for me. (I'm a 8 - 9 us based on the shoe). So I had to return them which cost me 15 bucks to ship back. After that I kinda lost my gut on ordering online and what size to get so I waited it out for a few weeks, but I finally got fed up and decided to jsut go for a size smaller. The uk 6 are much better, but still a tad too big. However, I don't wanna pay the frickn return shipping and risk getting a uk 5 only to find out that they are too small.

If you have a DM store near you I seriously recommend you go and try the shoe on first. I unfortunately couldn't do that.

The Site:
The Doc Marten site is pretty darn amazing. It's really organized and easy to navigate. When I ordered my DMs they were free shipping and no tax so it was an amazing deal. When I returned my DMs in the beginning I didn't get a confirmation e-mail, but when I checked on the site It said it had passed so other than that I had no Problems with the Site.

Breaking Them In:
They are actually not that bad to break in. Maybe It's cause they're a bit big or the fact that I've broken in much more painful shoes, but the DMs are pretty bearable when breaking in. I haven't actually totally broken them in yet, but I've worn them to school for a couple of days already and other than one spot on my foot that has a bruise everything went fine. Honestly when you look online at what people tell you to do to break in DMs you'd think they were some super shoe. Seriously, I recommend you jsut suck it up and tough it out.

The Color:
I ended up going with the cherry red smooth, but hey thats just me. I was going back and forth as to whether or not I should go for the black docs instead, but I knew everyone had them and that nice black combat boots are easy to find. I do not regret my decision in the least. I think if I really want to I'll just save up and buy the black ones for myself at christmas. Seriously, the red docs suprisingly match most of the things in my closet. I am so happy I went with the cherry red smooth.

Now with no further ado I present my 1460 Cherry Red Smooth Doc Martens:

Just an Example of how I'd style them. (If you guys want I could do a How I Style Doc Martens Post)
High waisted shorts, an oversized forest green crop top, and a bandeu.

Anyways I've been DIYing a lot recently. Things like bleaching, shredding, and reconstructing. I've always been a crafty, but once summer starts coming around I just want to rip up everything. I'll see you guys laterr.

Bye bye

No Sleep

I got not a wink of sleep last night. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't bring myself to sleep. In the end I just gave up and turned the lights on. I then proceeded to watch an excessive amount of movies and download the songs on those said movies. It's now seven in the morning and it's time for me to go to school. But I want to sleep.

Time for me to:
Wash Face
Brush teeth & Hair
Wear Clothes
Do Hair
Go To School

Tumble tumble tumble.

Bye bye

Randoms

SO, these are my crocs...
They have been making a debut every summer since 8th grade and I have to say I love them dearly. No matter what anyone says crocs are cool in my eyes. Although, people do say I have extremely bad eyesight. I remember the day I got these pretty well. I had missed my 8th grade graduation (as well as the end of the year six flags trip) to go to texas and see my brother graduate from the air force training camp so I was pretty bummed. It was the last day that we were gonna be at Texas and we decided to do some last minute shopping. As soon as I walked in I saw the Crocs store and boy was I excited. (Mind you I had been going on the crocs' site quite a bit, but couldn't take the plunge to buy them and there was no croc store near where I live). Before the trip I was determined to buy yellow crocs. Unfortunately, while at the store I was told that yellow crocs only come in kid sizes that my huge feet would not fit in. So my mom and me settled on these pair and the rest is history. BTW, aren't my little spongebob bobbins cute?

Couldn't resist taking this picture. They look so cool and they are DIY. HURRAH

For those of you who are curious this is my jewelry set up.

Some doodles that I drew.

Oh my geeee. This is quite possibly my favorite shirt of the moment. I can't seem to get enough. The picture is just so funny to me. Have any of you watched Beavis and Butthead?

I love highbuns, especially when I use this doodad to help me do it. It makes my buns extra big and beautiful.
This is a skirt I bought of Urban Outfitters. It's on sale for like 50% off and you can also use a coupon to make it even cheaper. Its actually a skort so it's very comfy.

Sorry I haven't been blogging much. I just finished my ap test on friday so Ive been taking a break. Oh, I also ordered some cherry red smooth docs today and I'm super excited to get them. I ordered them before and they were too big so hopefully this pair fits just right.

Anyways thats all for now.

Bye bye
